There is an artist’s rendering of the exterior of the hotel in a publication from the Chamber of Commerce of the Rockaways. It was from the December, 1948 issue of The Rockaway Review.

I too am a Stella Maris HS Alumni ’76. We posted your story on our Facebook page. Many SM Ladies enjoyed this bit of history…and listed many comments. We really enjoyed your story. What a shame that the hotel was not able to become a success…but if it were…we would not have been able to attend our Stella Maris. While the building still stands…our Stella Maris is no longer. Wondering…are there any interior photos of the hotel? Thank you.

Wow ! I thought this was really interesting I had no idea .. it’s sad it lasted such a short time that doesn’t make sense to me . Thanks for the story ! I went to Stella Maris H.S. From 76-80 and you think someone would have had this knowledge..
